2025 - ongoing
Living in the Blue is a photographic series created with the Leica Q2 Monochrom through an RGB multi-exposure process that uses light and the color blue to depict an apparition of chaos focused on the intimacies of everyday life and the formation of memories.
Motherhood unveils seemingly impossible emotional states. Isolation, though you are never alone; grief, but you are supposed to be the happiest you’ve ever been; love, but your body is filled with anger; and fragility accompanying an unfamiliar strength.
This ongoing project strives to represent this duality of the emotions of caregiving through images of shared bodies and shared spaces with the blue image acting as a witness to a shifting and fragile chapter of temporality and the permanent, yet malleable memories formed. As time passes, the memories of these early years shift; we forget the pain, sleep deprivation, and insecurities. This project enhances these emotions through the use of color, where blue feels like a vapor of a memory that could unconsciously dissipate if we look away.
